GFI Software, a IT solutions provider for small and medium-sized enterprises, has launched GFI MailEssentials Complete, an anti-spam, anti-phishing and hosted Exchange e-mail security solution for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the U.S. region. MailEssentials Complete utilizes suitable software and hardware to give organizations an e-mail security solution they can deploy using the delivery model of their choice, whether on premise, as a physical or virtual appliance, or as a hosted service.
MailEssentials Complete provides users with suitable malware detection and a spam-capture rate greater than 98 percent with low false positives. MailEssentials Complete is available as a hardware appliance, a virtual appliance or as a hosted online service.
MailEssentials Complete Appliance provides SMBs with a commercial-grade appliance or a VMware-based virtual appliance. The physical appliance is designed to be up and running in less than 15 minutes; it features proven software on high-quality hardware and comes with a three-year warranty at no additional cost. Providing the same level of protection and functionality as the physical appliance, the virtual appliance is ideal for users who prefer to provision a virtual server rather than install an additional hardware device.
With MailEssentials Complete Online, SMBs can benefit from all the protection that the physical and virtual appliances provide without the need to install and manage the solution onsite. GFI MailEssentials Complete Online users also receive additional functionality, including an e-mail continuity service through which they can access and send e-mail if their internal infrastructure is offline.
Coupled with an organization’s need to balance security and infrastructure costs, the increasing volume of e-mail-borne threats is a growing burden on administrators looking to find the optimum and most cost-effective approach to e-mail security.
Flexibility is key to fully servicing the SMB security market. According to research conducted last year by GFI, nearly 35 percent of SMBs surveyed use a combination of e-mail security on an internal mail server and at the gateway. While more than 40 percent agree that it is good security practice to run multiple security solutions in their organization, nearly 40 percent of SMBs, however, rate themselves as “neutral” to “not satisfied” with their existing solution. A quarter indicated that they are looking to add a gateway device or SaaS (News

GFI Software provides Web and mail security, archiving and fax, networking and security software and hosted IT solutions for small to medium-sized enterprises (SME) via an extensive global partner community. GFI products are available either as on-premise solutions, in the cloud or as a hybrid of both delivery models. GFI provides key technology, a competitive pricing strategy, and a strong focus on the unique requirements of SMEs.
In related news, GFI Software added enhanced security and compliance features to GFI EventsManager 2011. These features include Microsoft (News
