SoftLayer (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of cloud, dedicated and managed hosting, and SendGrid have entered into a partnership on SoftLayer’s hosted Exchange e-mail delivery service.

Officials with SoftLayer Technologies said that the highly scalable e-mail relay solution integrates into applications and services, letting the company’s customers avoid the time and cost of developing a proprietary solution or licensing a third-party service.

Company officials pointed out that it is available in four different pricing levels, including a free package.

“Practically every online application has email built into it in some fashion. So we wanted to provide an email delivery service our customers can easily merge and manage with their entire SoftLayer environment,” said Nathan Day, chief scientist for SoftLayer, in a statement.

Day said that SendGrid’s platform was the ideal foundation for doing just that.

“Its extensive capabilities, performance, and features dovetail perfectly with our commitment to automation, reliability, and empowerment,” he said.

According to company officials, the SoftLayer E-mail Delivery Service leverages SendGrid’s cloud-based architecture and advanced delivery protocols to provide key features and benefits including-Exceptional reliability; On-demand scalability up to millions of e-mails; superior email delivery rates and comprehensive real-time analytics, among other such things.
