LiveOffice , a provider of software-as-a-service technology, announced that Community Hospital of Long Beach has selected LiveOffice Hosted Exchange 2007, as a replacement over Exchange 2000.
LiveOffice provides (SaaS (News - Alert)) e-mail archiving, e-mail compliance and e-mail continuity solutions.
CHLB will replace its outdated e-mail solution Exchange 2000, designed to support 40 users, with LiveOffice Hosted Exchange 2007, LiveOffice Discovery Archive, LiveOffice Personal Archive and LiveOffice Encryption Service. This will overcome several limitations of the previous e-mail solution application as well as reduce IT management time and improve storage capacity.
Robert Klingseis, director of information services and technology, said the hospital needed to quickly upgrade and modernize its email system. The hospital currently has 300 users and with no remote access, extremely limited storage capacity their technical services team was burdened with maintenance tasks.
Klingseis explained that after switching to LiveOffice, within two weeks they were able to quickly implement a state-of-the-art email messaging and archiving system. He said the switch has saved the hospital precious time and money. The hospital has seen an 80 percent drop in e-mail management.
With a fourfold increase in storage capacity and easy scale up options, the new system has improved and increased user satisfaction. The burden on the technical service team has also decreased.
Stringent regulatory requirements including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) require that the hospital search access and periodically update emails. With Discovery Archive, that is no longer an issue said Klingseis.
In February, Source (News - Alert) Interlink Companies, Inc., an integrated media, publishing, merchandising and distribution company, selected LiveOffice for its Personal Archive, Discovery Archive and Email Continuity solutions.
