Huawei opens new R&D center in Ireland
Jan 10, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., an information and communications technology solutions provider, has opened a new R&D center spread across two sites in Cork City and Dublin, Ireland.
Huawei will create jobs for over 50 research professionals who will contribute skills and expertise to the company's global operations. Initially the center will focus on Huawei's Customer Experience Management Product, SmartCare, supporting the company in providing customer services to telecoms operators both in Ireland and internationally. Future expansion at the sites will extend R&D functions to cover a wider range of IT software projects, the company said.
Derek Ding, managing director of Huawei Ireland, said: "The new center is a significant commitment to Ireland over the next three years, with many more highly-skilled jobs being created. It reflects a deep and long-term commitment to the country. Cork and Dublin were chosen for their well-educated, skilled workforce offering the high-quality of talent needed to provide the range of services needed for a strategic OSS R&D center. Excitingly, the recruitment process has already begun and 12 positions have already been filled."
