New Vocollect VoiceExpress Host Interface Solution is Suitable for Different Workflows

Vocollect announced the launch of Vocollect VoiceExpress, a host interface solution that provides voice across various distribution workflows and facilitates the adoption of easy customer voice solutions.
The solution will be most suitable for distribution center (DC) and warehouse operators, according to company sources.
Vocollect’s certified partners can also use VoiceExpress to reengineer processes as it eliminates the need to change the host, besides reducing the dependence on IT resources. Partners synergize their consultative expertise using Vocollect speech recognition solution producing an integrated voice solution. The resulting voice-based workflows are more accurate and are expected to increase the productivity of warehouse associates.
“Based on early feedback from some of our customers and partners, we are excited about our ability to enable more distribution operations to gain the benefits of voice quickly across more workflows – in a way that minimizes their need to modify the host or tap precious IT resources,” Tom Murray, Vice President, Product Management and Marketing for Vocollect, said in a release.
The host interfaces offered by Vocollect have been designed to serve all market needs and they can be deployed to ensure high flexibility as it allows addition of voice easily to more workflows.
Vocollect VoiceArtisan, an open and flexible integrated development environment, has been incorporated in the initial solution along with Vocollect VoiceCatalyst, a multi-vendor client application. It also incorporates VoiceExpress Server a “thin” pass-through middleware component.
Officials explained that workflows can be voice-enabled quickly and easily encompassing all the processes from selection to cycle-counting, put-away, receiving, loading and so on. As VoiceExpress is based on Vocollect’s client software Vocollect VoiceCatalyst, it becomes easy to voice-enable more portions of a DC or warehouse. The Vocollect solution helps customers leverage their voice-enabled mobile devices to create more profits owing to additional workflows.
Vocollect voice-centric solutions serve the purposes of mobile workers as the solutions are designed for use in distribution and warehouse environments. Productivity and business performance for customers will be greatly enhanced as the speech recognition software ensures accuracy of in-vocabulary speech recognition, said officials.
In 2010 Vocollect launched its Vocollect wireless headset, the SRX, available on the Intermec (News - Alert) CK3 rugged mobile computer.
