TMCnet's Hosted IVR Week in Review

It’s been a busy week here in technology and communications. Let’s recap the headlines in hosted IVR.
Datatel Communications Technologies launched a partnership program that will give VARs and software vendors the ability to maximize their revenue by moving payments over to the cloud, specifically incorporating IVR credit card payments into its offerings.
Callers can pay bills, fees and contributions over the telephone 24/7 in a secure environment, according to Datatel. The IVR payment expert said there is no investment in hardware or software for its cloud solution.
“We are excited to expand our partner program to include software vendors and VARs,” said Barnard Crespi, co-CEO at Datatel. “The program is a win-win as it delivers a recurring revenue stream for our partners and addresses growing market demands for telephone payment solutions.”

A special report on TMCnet this week debunks myths associated with IVR systems, one of the more common myths being that customers just don’t want to deal with an automated system.
According to the report, it’s actually not true. The real issue is not that callers don’t want to interact with a machine, it’s that they’re often misled or getting the wrong information out of the IVR. If a caller can get information efficiently and accurately from an IVR, then they won’t reject using the technology.
Read about more myths associated with IVRs, and why they’re not exactly true, via the first series of the full report.
The second report in the series details the myth that certain tasks might be too complex to be automated. How is this a myth? Read about it via IVR Myths Busted.
