Revol Wireless has selected the Interop (News - Alert) hosted Over-the-Air (OTA) device provisioning platform with an integrated Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.
Interop Technologies’ IVR system enables operators to set themselves apart from the competition by providing their customers with fully automated, accurate activation and configuration 24 hours a day.
According to company officials, the company’s IVR can be integrated into an existing OTA platform or implemented as part of their comprehensive OTA-IVR provisioning solution.
David Zylka, chief technology officer at Revol Wireless, said the selection of the Interop OTA solution will enable the company to improve customer satisfaction by enabling device activation at the point of sale and automating the configuration process.
In addition, he expects that the company will benefit from reduced up-front and ongoing operational expenses with a hosted solution.
Cleveland, Ohio-based Revol Wireless offers unlimited, flat-rate service in key areas of the Midwest without requiring long-term contracts or deposits. To the subscribers of Revol, the SS7-based, IS-683-compliant OTA system provides a fully automated, accurate mobile device activation and configuration 24 hours a day, company officials said.
The Interop hosted OTA-IVR provisioning solution supports both subscriber- and network-initiated tasks, including device activations and handset programming, such as mobile number changes, electronic serial Number (ESN) changes and preferred roaming list (PRL) updates.
“Our OTA-IVR solution enables Revol to reduce costs associated with manual activations and provisioning and more efficiently manage its pool of CDMA devices, which has become more challenging as new, feature-rich handsets have been introduced,” said Fred Farrell, vice president of North American Sales at Interop Technologies.
Interop Technologies is a developer of innovative software solutions to support today’s converging communication ecosystem in the areas of advanced messaging, OTA handset management and connectivity gateways.
Recently, Chat Mobility and Northwest Missouri Cellular (NorthwestCell) selected Interop to provide several hosted solutions, including Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC), Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Gateway (News
