All subscribers of Warid throughout Uganda can access the Voice SMS service on any type of mobile device. Subscribers are not required to type messages and can send them via voice using the latest service. Subscribers can now connect with each other in a rapid manner with increased convenience. Unlike texting, subscribers can now express their emotions in an improved manner.
In a statement, Sriram Yarlagadda, CEO of Warid Uganda said, "We have always believed in Kirusa's capabilities to innovate and simplify telecommunications by way of adding value to our services. The convenient Voice SMS is increasingly being preferred by mobile subscribers across the globe. Currently, a minimum of 30 mobile carriers across four continents have already implemented platforms from Kirusa. These platforms process a minimum of one billion calls each month.
A nominal charge of approximately US$ 0.03 needs to be paid by subscribers for creating, responding or forwarding a Voice SMS message. While a subscriber can hear a message for free once, additional messages will cost approximately US$ 0.01.

We are delighted that Warid Uganda has decided to offer the portfolio of Kirusa services, including Voice SMS, to meet the needs of its mobile subscribers, and helping increase adoption, retention and revenue."
