Clarity Avails Simple Voice-Activated Speakerphone

Clarity (News - Alert), a division of Plantronics, said that a voice-activated and hands-free speakerphone called Fortissimo is now available on its website.

Calling Fortissimo the “ultimate phone” for people with limited mobility, Carsten Trads, president of Clarity, said "If you are in a wheelchair or simply can't move quickly around your house, Fortissimo is for you.”

This offering comes with 85 dBSPL of loud and crystal clear amplification. Thanks to this feature, users can have conversations from anywhere in the room in which the speakerphone is located.

Fortissimo can also be operated with a remote pendant.

“Because of its powerful amplification and digital sound processing, Fortissimo allows you to have phone conversations where you are most comfortable,” Trads said.

Additional features include talking caller ID and large LCD touchscreen, which help users identify incoming callers from a distance. It also comes equipped with Plantronics Vocalyst voice service.

This service, said company officials, enables users to post on Facebook and Twitter (News - Alert), send e-mail, listen to voicemails and news feeds, and check the weather by speaking commands to the device.

The new device offers multiple adaptations for hands-free control, and can be particularly useful for the six million Americans who have some form of paralysis, as they can activate various features by blowing gently on the connected puff switch or touching the connected pillow switch with their arm, leg, head or shoulder.

Fortissimo also includes ClarityLogic, an innovative customer service technology through which Clarity technicians can remotely access and make adjustments to a user’s Fortissimo.
