In bid to help make it possible to provide VoIP

to all areas of the world—even those not typically covered by traditional carriers, VoIP network service provider, Xyrous Communications has made use of NexTone's SBC

and MSX offerings.
With the use of NexTone's platforms, it is possible for Xyrous to provide VoIP call termination to these areas via switching platforms as well as provides Xyrous with the ability to interoperate with different vendor's network infrastructure equipment and VoIP devices.
NextTone's MSX (Multi-protocol Session Exchange) platform provides improved routing and interconnects SIP and H.323

networks to specifically offer Xyrous flexibility and scalability for its growing VoIP network.
And with their SBC (Session Border Controller), which boasts service flexibility and carrier-class scalability as well as consistent service quality, protection and security between VoIP or IMS

networks, it is possible for Xyrous to have consistent call quality and secure bilateral interconnects.
According to a news release, NexTone's technology will make it possible for Xyrous to "peer VoIP traffic and interconnect with its carrier customers and termination partners, including PTT's and Tier 1 carriers around the globe, to terminate VoIP calls to any destination in the world."
"Xyrous was built around VoIP, and our company does things a little differently than other carriers -- we go to places that not a lot of carriers will go. It's important for Xyrous to deliver a high-quality and reliable VoIP service and NexTone allows us to make those calls happen," said David Kovach, chief operating officer for Xyrous in a statement.
NexTone made headlines recently when they announced the results of their latest study,
"VoIP Peering (News - Alert): State of the Market and Strategic Analysis of Customer Needs," produced by J Arnold & Associates. The findings indicate growth for VoIP peering and look to expanding numbers of carriers and peering partners as well as advances in peering platforms and increased call volumes as key reasons for growth.
