Cox Business, the business-to-business division of cable provider Cox (News - Alert) Communications, Inc. has announced that it is going to power voice and data services for Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas Auto Auction. This year, the much celebrated auction event will be held at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino from September 23-25.

In Las Vegas, Cox Business (News - Alert) will provide dedicated digital voice service, a 40 Mbps Cox Optical Internet circuit and a point-to-point Ethernet data connection that links show operations to Barrett-Jackson's headquarters in Scottsdale.

"With three days of action-packed auction activity, Barrett-Jackson requires the most reliable technological infrastructure available," said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. "Secure, reliable communications are essential to our operations and ensure timely and accurate information sharing and transaction processing."

It is Cox Business that has been providing ongoing voice and data communications infrastructure to Barrett-Jackson's headquarters in Scottsdale. Cox provides massive data connections to support the website's 80 million annual page views. Cox's network also connects Barrett-Jackson's Arizona showroom and annual Scottsdale Collector Car Event with the company's central facility.

"Cox is the trusted provider for many of the largest sporting, entertainment and special interest events in the country and each have unique communication needs," said Mike Bolognini, vice president of Cox Business and Hospitality Network in Las Vegas. "Barrett-Jackson is world renowned for its selection of quality cars and professional service, making it a natural combination with Cox Business."

The fourth largest Ethernet service provider and the seventh largest voice service provider in the US, Cox Business has a proven track record in delivering voice, data and video services to nearly 250,000 small and regional businesses, including health care providers, financial institutions and federal, state and local government organizations.

Recently, TMCnet reported that Cox Business has also powered the 2010 Jerry Lewis MDA (News - Alert) Telethon.
