Seamless Access with Mobile Connect

Mobile Connect, an application designed specifically for Apple's (News - Alert) iPhone, has been introduced by Smoothstone IP Communications, the premier provider of cloud-based enterprise unified communications applications and services. Enterprises, through the newly launched application, will be allowed to extend the reach of their corporate communications services to mobile employees.


To drive employee productivity both in and out of the office, enterprises are increasingly relying on mobile phones. They are also trying to drive down costs by integrating these devices with their enterprise communications systems. This challenge is effectively met by the Mobile Connect application by allowing mobile employees to have seamless access to their enterprise communication network from their mobile handset. Mobile and remote employees, with Mobile Connect, are better equipped to work as effectively and efficiently as those in corporate offices.

The application can be downloaded for free by the Smoothstone customers from the Apple App Store and is compatible with any iPhone (News - Alert).

The enterprise's mobile workforce, through the use of the Mobile Connect application, can take full advantage of all of the outbound calling features from Smoothstone (News - Alert), such as access to the company directory, low-cost international calling, 4-digit On-Net dialing and visual voicemail with one-touch access to listen to and manipulate messages.  

The users are provided with a convergence of the fixed and mobile phone with the help of Mobile Connect. This provides callers the simplicity of a single number and maintaining privacy of personal mobile numbers.

Separate call logging, call history and voicemail are provided by Mobile Connect, to allow users to keep their work and personal calls completely separated on the same device. Through Mobile Connect, with advanced features such as call recording, and centralized call detail reporting that are extended from the Smoothstone cloud-based enterprise platform, compliance requirements and features from Smoothstone Complete are also carried over to the iPhone.

"Mobile Connect will allow enterprises to expand their workforces in the field while keeping their communications all on one platform," Wellemeyer added.

In related news, Smoothstone has entered into a partnership relation with Logista, a provider of technology management services, to offer unified Internet Protocol communications for HORNE, an accounting and business advisory firm.
