Nominum (News - Alert), a provider of network naming and addressing technologies, has appointed Pete Wisowaty as the Vice President of Carrier Sales and Gopala Tumuluri as the Vice President of Marketing.

Both Pete and Gopala will join Nominum's executive team and further the company's commitment to powering the world's always-on networks.

Boasting over two decades of sales, sales management and business development experience, Pete will aim to expand the company's carrier sales revenue globally, further driving Nominum's footprint and leadership in the wireline, cable broadband and VoIP markets.

Pete showed exceptional leadership as part of the sales team over the past three years with the company. He consistently demonstrated the ability to secure significant customer wins through long-term partnership building with leading carriers.

Before joining Nominum, Pete held strategic sales and business development roles at companies including Grand Central Communications, WhereNet and Photuris.

Experienced in launching and sustaining innovative network infrastructure solutions in carrier and enterprise markets worldwide, Gopala is responsible for worldwide marketing for the company.

Prior to joining Nominum, Gopala was Director of Product Marketing for Foundry Networks' (News - Alert) application acceleration switch product lines where he successfully re-positioned the products in the high-end carrier and enterprise markets, and helped double product line revenues.

Gopala also held senior level product management and engineering positions at Elematics, Calient Networks and Marconi (FORE Systems).

Tom Tovar, chief executive officer, Nominum said in a statement that Pete has been instrumental in Nominum's success over the past three years and has proven expertise for aggressively driving their sales growth.

Tovar noted that Gopala makes an ideal choice to lead their Marketing team due to his keen understanding of the markets and his dedication to their customers and their needs. He indicated that with these executive appointments, Nominum is poised for continued growth in 2008.
