Seeking to improve its in-house telecommunications network, BPO firm SupportSave Solutions Inc. will be expanding its use of 8x8's (News - Alert) Packet8 Virtual Office hosted iPBX phone services over the next year.
Specifically, SupportSave will increase the number of lines from 75 to more than 150 within the next 90 days. It plans to increase that number to more than 500 lines – and possibly up to 1,000 – over the next year.
"We are pleased that SupportSave, a rapidly growing BPO service provider, is expanding its usage of our Packet8 Virtual Office technology and will be one of our larger customers," said 8x8 Vice President of Sales & Marketing Huw Rees (News - Alert) in a press release. "Our expanded service agreement with SupportSave signifies a vote of confidence in our services and technology," Mr. Rees continued. "Our business communications services help companies like SupportSave meet dynamic, growing demands and quickly facilitate expansion."
"We are extremely satisfied with the service that 8x8 has provided SupportSave and value the contributions its solutions provide to our growing business,” added Chris Johns, CEO of SupportSave. “Packet8 Virtual Office services have helped us lower our communications costs while enhancing our ability to communicate effectively with our customers.”
8x8 made news on TMCnet last week when it introduced today introduced its new Packet8 Virtual Office Tango Video Terminal Adapter (VTA), a desktop videoconferencing solution that enhances the functionality of the Packet8 Virtual Office hosted iPBX phone system. With this new offering, Packet8 Virtual Office subscribers can experience the benefits of videoconferencing directly from their personal Virtual Office extension, including travel expenses and time spent out of the office, as well as increased worker productivity, more efficient and effective meetings, better support for remote workers and the ability to maintain close day-to-day contact with important clients.
Earlier in January, 8x8 announced that it had teamed up with mobility and unified communications technologies firm MobileMax (News - Alert) to deliver a new mobile calling service dubbed as "Packet8 MobileTalk.” The new service, based on MobileMax’s platform, makes use of a downloadable software application compatible with all Windows, Palm, Blackberry and Symbian (News - Alert) OS-based smartphones. Calls made from these devices will be routed through the Packet8 digital VoIP
network. The new service will help cell phone users trim their phone bills while maintaining superior voice quality and flexibility associated with mobile calling.
