In any case, the folks at eMotive were kind enough to share with Yours Truly some statistics about push-media applications that they gathered over Valentine’s Day:

 

• Increase in call volumes Valentine’s Week 272% from prior week data

• Increase in commercial push ringers (2/13, 14, 15) to 48% of call volumes

• Usually user-generated content dominates at approximately 50% of call volumes

• Commercial push ringers over same period week prior represented 11% of call volumes and 30% week following

• Week following Valentine’s Day call volumes dropped 75%

• 52% of the titles were purchased in the US. The Netherlands, New Zealand, Great Brittan and Canada are also strong users.

 

The most popular push ringers for Valentine’s Day 2008 were as follows:
