Tripp Lite (News - Alert) introduced a trio of new SmartOnline Modular 3-Phase UPS Systems today.
The three models — SU40K, SU60K and SU80K — are designed for 120/208V applications and offer operational efficiencies up to 97 percent.
The new Modular 3-Phase UPS Systems feature self-contained, hot-swappable 20kVA power modules; multiple modules are available in order to provide N+1 redundancy.
Users can also deploy two units connected in parallel for system redundancy or for increased power capacity. For example, two 80kVA units can be connected in parallel to support a load of 160kVA.
According to the Tripp Lite announcement, “in a parallel redundant configuration, each UPS supports half of the load. If one UPS is subsequently removed or taken off line for maintenance, the second UPS will support the full load automatically.”
“Tripp Lite’s new Modular 3-Phase UPS Systems offer reliable installation and economical operation and maintenance,” said Paul Wampach, Tripp Lite’s 3-Phase UPS System Product Manager, in a statement. “They maximize availability for mission-critical systems, lower installation and operational costs, while facilitating efficient and timely service performance.”
The new SmartOnline Modular 3-Phase UPS Systems are designed to assist facility managers in controlling installation and operating costs, as well as producing less than three percent input Total Harmonic (News - Alert) Distortion (THDi). Low THDi allows for a potential increase in generator life as the generators run cooler. This also obviates the need for oversize generators, cables and breakers.
An LCD display provides a real-time event log and stores up to 500 events to help managers react more quickly to changing conditions.
“The new Modular 3-Phase UPS Systems deliver a superior combination of features, performance and value,” said Wampach.
