Estonia's Elion Selects Amdocs to Meet Customer Demand for IP Services

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Elion, one of the largest telecommunications and IT providers in Estonia, has selected Amdocs (News - Alert) operations support systems (OSS) to streamline its network operations and resource management.

Amdocs will provide a network inventory system for the provider's fast growing portfolio of Internet Protocol (IP)-based services, such as new triple play offerings including video, voice and cable.

The move is seen as Elion’s efforts to improve its operational efficiency, reduce support costs and decrease time-to-market for new services, enabling it to enhance its customer experience.

Amdocs OSS would enable Elion to gain a single source of complete and accurate data within its network for faster service fulfillment. Moreover, Elion can utilize network data to streamline the service assurance process and make the most efficient use of network assets.

With newly automated processes for network planning and executing changes within its network, Elion can rapidly launch and maintain complex services to strengthen its competitive advantage and maintain its position as the IP service provider of choice in the Estonian market.

Elion holds the majority of broadband, fixed voice communication and digital television market in Estonia and owns Estonia's most popular Internet search engine and subject catalogue called NETI.

Elion is a subsidiary of AS Eesti Telekom (majority-owned by TeliaSonera (News - Alert)). In 2007, the consolidated revenue of Elion Group was €191.6 million and the consolidated net profit was €32.3 million.

In 2007 Elion invested €32.4 million in the development of telecommunications.
Amdocs is a major player in customer experience systems innovation, enabling world-leading service providers to deliver an integrated, innovative and intentional customer experience at every point of service.

Amdocs provides solutions that deliver customer experience excellence, combining the software, service and expertise to help its customers execute their strategies and achieve service, operational and financial excellence.

A global company with revenue of $2.84 billion in fiscal 2007, Amdocs has more than 17,000 employees and serves customers in more than 50 countries around the world.
