By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

BandTel, a worldwide provider of SIP Trunking services, has announced that it has entered into an alliance with VegaStream, a manufacturer of VoIP gateways. The partnership certifies that BandTel’s (News - Alert) scalable, fail-safe VoIP network is compatible with VegaStream’s award-winning VoIP gateways.

The alliance provides for VegaStream channel partners around the world to offer an interoperable solution that will combine BandTel’s fault-tolerant, bandwidth-saving architecture and global network with reliable, cost-effective and feature-rich VoIP gateways by VegaStream. For its part, BandTel will offer VegaStream’s high performance VoIP gateways to its enterprise and call center customers.

Chris Dunk, CEO of BandTel, noted that the company is excited about the partnership with VegaStream because it brings the two company’s respective customers and resellers innovative solutions that are easy to deploy and use while reducing common throughput and redundancy issues.

Dunk went on to add that VegaStream is known for providing best-of-breed VoIP gateways. By combining its scalable, fault-tolerant architecture with VegaStream’s gateways, the companies are working together to ensure compatibility and interoperability, which can result in seamless integration and a high quality voice service.

VegaStream has grown its position in the market with a wide variety of award winning VoIP gateways that are considered to be highly reliable, cost-effective and easy to install and use. The product line includes the Vega 400 digital gateway, which is a carrier-grade platform that connects digital telephony equipment to the public network and the latest Vega 50 family of analog gateways.

All of VegaStream’s products are designed to help streamline the introduction of essential VoIP services. With various standards-based platforms, enterprises will have access to mission critical VoIP services and enables carriers to easily deploy services to any customer without requiring chances to their existing infrastructure.

According to Donald Krause, vice president, North American service provider market at VegaStream, BandTel is the missing piece of the VoIP puzzle because it delivers the reliability and scalability absent in most bandwidth-heavy IP telephony environments. VegaStream is pleased to develop a relationship with BandTel and it reinforces the company’s commitment of delivering highly innovative and reliable VoIP systems while also enabling them to leverage its ability to meet the demands of high intensity calling environments.

BandTel users can receive service from multiple BandTel switching centers at any given time with SIP Softswitch technology. BandTel’s N-Plus architecture is intended to lift the burden placed on even the most robust servers with a clustered architecture that eliminates the need for numerous IP addresses to numerous SIP proxies.

Both companies will be exhibiting at the upcoming Internet Telephony Conference, to be held Oct. 10-13 at the San Diego Convention Center. BandTel will be located in booth #821 and will also participate in Ingate's SIP Trunking seminars in room 6E. VegaStream will be in booth #700 V1.

The combination of BandTel and VegaStream is bound to garner attention in the market as both have proven technologies as well as significant customer wins on which to base their market strength. Customers will be the big winners of the partnership, however, as their combined strength will result in robust and reliable solutions.
