Mediatrix Telecom (News - Alert) announced today that it completed joint interoperability tests to verify the compatibility of its “4100 Series VoIP
Access” devices with Nortel’s (News - Alert) “Communication Server 2100.”
The Mediatrix 4100 Series Analog VoIP Gateway (News - Alert), in the MGCP
Protocol, was tested with Nortel’s Release SE09 and SE10 for the CS 2100, according to the companies. The testing showed that the Mediatrix 4100 Series is now interoperable and ready to be deployed with the Nortel CS 2100 platform, company officials say.
With the results, the Mediatrix 4100 Series joins Nortel’s Select Product Program for North America, replacing the Mediatrix 1104 and Mediatrix 1124, according to the company.
The Mediatrix 4100 Series was chosen by Nortel because it strategically complements the Nortel CS 2100 platforms, and creates significant value for its customers, according to Mediatrix officials.
According to Philippe Babin, PLM director for Mediatrix Telecom, the compatibility of the Mediatrix 4100 series with the Nortel CS 2100 enables large enterprise customers to deploy applications seamlessly in any telecommunications network environment.
He expressed Mediatrix’s commitment to facilitate the integration of their VoIP gateway
solutions with the products and solutions of their key business partners like Nortel, from large scale to small, as well as with new technologies as they adapt networks for the future.
The Mediatrix 4100 Series products connect larger branch offices and multi-tenant buildings to an IP
network. The high-quality and cost-efficient VoIP gateways also preserve investment in analog telephones and faxes. By using the Mediatrix 4100 access devices, service providers can deploy rapidly and economically their solutions in medium-size premises, according to the company. These products are the ideal solution for branch office connectivity to larger private networks, company officials say.
