TransAKT Ltd., a global manufacturer and distributor of telecommunications hardware for commercial and residential users, has reached an agreement with CeraMicro Inc., a Taiwanese company, for the development of its "ZigBee" module.
As per the agreement, CeraMicro will exclusively provide a ZigBee module for the home automation industry to TransAKT to be marketed under TransAKT's own brand name.
This ZigBee module, scheduled to launch in September and be ready for mass production the second quarter of 2009, is the IEEE (News - Alert) wireless standard 802.15.04. This wireless standard can be used in many different applications like AMR (automatic meter reader) for electricity and water, security, lighting control, access control and agriculture control.
Many companies like Honeywell (News - Alert), Texas Instruments, and Atmel are interested in this new standard and have already introduced products into the market.
TransAKT is a global manufacturer and distributor of telecommunications based in Calgary, Alberta with main operations in Taipei, Taiwan.
Through its wholly-owned subsidiary Taiwan Halee International (HTT), TransAKT is one of the largest distributors of telecommunications equipment for the Small Office-Home Office market, with more than 650 distribution outlets in Taiwan. "We are ready to share in the economic growth in this region, and I believe our distribution of major brand name telecommunication products together with TransAKT's own unique products will be well suited to this market and will be a significant source of revenue and profits for the company."
“TransAKT will introduce its 4-LINE cordless phone system (EZDECT 416) and 2-LINE PSTN/VOIP combo (EZDECT 209), these unique products are targeted toward SOHO and private home users with functions including intercom, call waiting, call transfer and 3-way conference calling. TransAKT will primarily focus its marketing efforts on China, the world's fastest growing market for telecommunication products. "We have already received inquiries for these products from various companies in China," says J.T. WANG, V.P. of sales and marketing of TransAKT.
"We will begin delivery of products to China by the end of this year following approval from local telecommunication regulators."
