BandTel Touts SIP Trunking at IT EXPO West 2008

By Richard Grigonis, Executive Editor, IP Communications Group

Here at TMC’s (News - Alert) ITEXPO West 2008 in Los Angeles, it’s becoming evident that businesses are interested in replacing expensive T1 connections with new-fangled SIP Trunks. Here at the show, one company whose name is synonymous with SIP Trunking is BandTel (News - Alert). The company ensures that customers and partners alike receive the most reliable, end-to-end VoIP and SIP trunking services available today. BandTel’s N-Plus architecture is designed to solve throughput and redundancy problems on high-capacity SIP-based networks and eliminate single points of failure. BandTel is headquartered in Newport Beach, California.

Joel Maloff (News - Alert), senior vice president of marketing for BandTel, said, “There’s more to SIP Trunking than a buzzword - it’s a valuable service. We can do more with lower cost. If your business has a traditional T1 and you’ve got a limited number of channels and other restrictions, take a look at SIP Trunking. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”

“I admit the industry until now hasn’t promoted the concept as much as it could have,” explained Maloff. “But, that is beginning to change. Companies are beginning to appreciate how we can reduce costs via our optimization of bandwidth usage by combining voice and data over a single IP connection. Our N-Plus architecture also puts enterprises at ease, because we’ve designed it to eliminate single points of failure. In addition, we conduct extensive interoperability tests and certify various IP PBX (News - Alert), Internet phones, and Analog Terminal Adapters (ATAs) as BandTel-Approved.”

BandTel’s SIP trunking solutions offer additional savings by eliminating the cost and maintenance associated with legacy leased line phone services while reducing long-distance telephone charges. Moreover, BandTel SIP trunking allows enterprises to retain their legacy PBX or customer premises equipment (CPE) and migrate to SIP trunking in a measured – rather than slap-dash manner.
