Launch: Telchemy's Enterprise VoIP Test Tool Application

Telchemy (News - Alert) has launched the DVQattest/EN, a testing tool for VoIP, IP Videoconferencing and HD telepresence services. The tool branches off the company’s VQmon suite, which provides network assessment, pre-deployment testing, SLA monitoring and network troubleshooting for enterprise networks.

The new DVQattest/EN is comprised of a software agent that can generate up to 200 simultaneous VoIP streams, 20 coexisting high definition (HD) 1080p simulated IP video streams and a series of network diagnostic tests, with an interactive application for configuration and reporting.

“DVQattest/EN is ideal for today's Enterprise looking to take advantage of new IP-based voice and video services,” said Telchemy’s CEO and president Alan Clark in a statement released on Wednesday. “This new tool meets the immediate need for VoIP deployments, and supports emerging technologies such as HD telepresence and IP Videoconferencing.”

DVQattest will generate VoIP and IP video streams designed to match actual traffic during the pre-deployment test mode. The application generates occasional test calls said to have minimal effect on the network during the SLA monitoring mode; this will allow administrators to measure service levels. Administrators can also troubleshoot the network by generating short active test sequences to diagnose typical Ethernet, switch and router problems.

Telchemy’s VQmon/SA-VM video analysis technology is capable of offering reports on TVQM video quality metrics, including MOS-V, and MOS-AV, I/ P/ B frame statistics. It also monitors the quality of IP video streams.

The Telchemy VQmon/SA system has been integrated to platforms such as WildPackets’ (News - Alert) OmniAnalysis to offer VoIP analysis and call quality monitoring. Since both companies decided to integrate the technologies, VQmon/SA offers in-depth media stream analysis and problem diagnosis of VoIP services for the OmniAnalysis Platform.

Network operators and system administrators use Telchemy’s VQmon technology to detect, monitor and resolve call quality and network related problems for networked multi-media services, including Voice and Video over IP, IP Centrex, 3G Cellular, Voice over WLAN, and streaming audio/video.
