IW Distribution, a specialty distributor of cordless and VoIP
solutions for the business, SME and SoHo/consumer markets, has launched VoSKY Call Center ATA in Australia.
The Skype (News - Alert) certified ATA will allow users to make and receive Skype calls when away from the ATA.
While making a Skype call required being at or near your computer or Internet access point, the new VoSKY Call Center enables you to make or receive Skype calls not just via a phone connected to the ATA but from any mobile or fixed phone anywhere.
User can simply plug the Call Center ATA into an Internet-connected PC and the PSTN
to make and receive Skype calls and normal PSTN calls from any standard telephone connected to the ATA.
Skype calls can be made and received by any mobile or fixed phone by calling the phone number to which the Call Center (home phone) is connected.
Since the new Call Center ATA has Call Diversion functionality, the Call Center can route a call to an alternate number you have set if you are not at the PC to answer a Skype call.
The ATA also boasts the Call Back function. If the user is calling a Skype contact remotely via the Call Centre and that contact is off-line, this functionality will ensure to call the user back and set up a Skype call when the Skype contact comes on-line.
“The VoSKY Call Center ATA allows users to make and receive Skype calls not just at their PC but from any phone, anywhere! With this new Skype certified ATA Skype users are not limited to using Skype when at their PC or an Internet access point,” said Daryl Chambers, director at IW Distribution in a press release.
He continued: “The Call Centre extends Skype's reach to users wherever they might be, provided they have a phone connection, be it mobile of fixed.”
Headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, Actiontec Electronics (News - Alert), Inc. develops products and services enabling consumers to leverage broadband Internet. Actiontec's products include the VoSKY family of Skype-certified products.
