New York-based Telwise Corp., a full service Internet telephony service provider, said it has signed a contract with mobiclear to provide telephonic connectivity to the company.

 

mobiclear offers a range of solutions to credit card and debit card fraud based on its patent-pending Personal Identification Verification (PIV) system.

 

The company also offers products to protect against fraud in all electronic transactions, including telephone and Internet transactions. In September, company signed agreements to both commercialize and finance its PIV products. Commercial operations are expected to commence in this year's fourth quarter.

 

Telwise offers voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and virtual private network solutions (VPN) over managed IP networks. With Telwise's VoIP system, mobiclear will be able to send telephone calls for the users of credit cards using mobiclear's PIV security.

 

“mobiclear's PIV technology requires an immediate PIN confirmation by phone from the card holder for a credit card transaction to be approved. This provides an extraordinary new level of protection to eliminate credit card fraud or misuse,” said Stephen Cutler, CEO at mobiclear.

 

Jaime Dula-Mallari, vice president of management information systems at Telwise said that integrating Telwise's “unique” solutions with mobiclear PIV technology has extended the requirements and securities to fight credit card frauds.

 

He said that company’s innovative solution will help to expand and reach the market for both companies and drive new revenue to his company’s customers. “These ventures have combined the strength of both parties, mutually beneficial to each other and bring a cost-effective solution to the marketplace.”

 

Telwise is an FCC (News - Alert) telecom licensed operator offering service providers, enterprise customers and select partners a suite of next generation voice and data solutions. The company’s solutions enable service providers to build converged network and to offer network based “plug and play” voice and data services for their residential and enterprise markets.

 

Last month, mobiclear said it will provide security log-in protection for the Credit Card Association of the Philippines (CCAP). mobiclear's product protects a credit card “negative” list developed by CCAP for use by its members.
