ABP Signs Distribution Agreement with Actiontec

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Actiontec Electronics has signed a distribution agreement with ABP (News - Alert) Technology, a distributor of VoIP and IP communications products for its VoSKY Exchange PBX-to-Skype (News - Alert) gateway with ABP Technology.

The deal will expand the distribution channels for the VoSKY product through ABP’s network of value-added resellers (VARs) in North America. The ABP-affiliated resellers offer pre-sales consultation, technical support and integration services for the VoSKY Exchange product. Additionally these resellers are also equipped to provide total IP communications solutions including IP PBX (News - Alert) systems.

A Skype-certified hardware device, VoSKY Exchange adds multiple Skype lines to the office PBX. This allows businesses to make and receive free and low-cost domestic and international long distance Skype calls over standard desk phones.

According to David Tang, Actiontec’s director of VoIP Product Development, ABP understands the VoIP market, has a solid base of VoIP VARs throughout North America, and has an impressive VoIP training and certification program that ensures reseller competency with IP communications technology.

Actiontec expect all of these factors to drive strong sales for VoSKY Exchange among businesses looking for ways to take advantage of the benefits and cost savings of IP telephony.

Robert Messer, CEO of ABP Technology believes VoSKY Exchange is a strong complement to their existing product portfolio and an excellent opportunity for their resellers to capitalize on the huge growth potential of Skype for business.

“The market has been demanding strategies for bringing Skype into the enterprise, and this product meets that demand with a combination of fast setup, easy integration with existing PBX or IP PBX systems, and almost immediate return on investment,” explained Messer in a press release.

Since VoSKY Exchange Skype-enables every phone extension in the office, it enable users to make and receive Skype calls without a PC and headset. This rackmountable PBX voice gateway adds up to eight Skype VoIP lines to the office PBX without changes to existing PBX or phone equipment.

Calls to other Skype users are free and calls to non-Skype users are charged at low-cost SkypeOut rates.

By enabling access to office Skype lines from any landline or mobile phone through a special access code, the latest version also offers Skype/VoIP connectivity for remote business users. A global numbering simplifies dialing between Exchange-equipped company offices.

ABP Technology is a distributor of VoIP and IP communications products operating through a network of value-added resellers and service providers.

Actiontec Electronics (News - Alert) develops products and services enabling consumers to leverage broadband Internet connectivity to simplify and enrich their lives.
