8x8 (News - Alert), Inc. provider of 8x8 Virtual Office and Packet8 broadband business, residential, video and mobile communications services, has been making headlines as of late. Yesterday, TMC’s Tim Gray reported on the 8x8 virtual office business phone service and Intel (News - Alert) Business Exchange collaboration.

 

A few weeks prior, Erik Linask reported to TMC readers about 8x8’s renewed emphasis on the cost benefits of VoIP, which the company by the way, claims that they could save businesses as much as $10,000 with their virtual office system.

 

Today the company has announced the appointment of two new regional sales managers along with the opening of a New York-based east coast sales office.

 

John Hilliard, will be the Northeast Regional Channel Manager and brings with him extensive telecommunications experience. Prior to working for 8x8 he has worked with organizations such as Nortel, MCK Communications, Bandtel, New Edge Networks (News - Alert) and Whaleback Systems in a variety of channel sales positions.

 

Robert Bashore has been appointed as the Southeast Regional Channel Manager and has over 13 years of telecom channel sales and major accounts experience with companies like Mitel, Inc., Inter-Tel (News - Alert) and A-Telecom, Inc.

 

Both join existing 8x8 field sales personnel Western Regional Channel Manager Tom Cooley, formerly with PowerGrid Communications, GTE, CommNet Cellular, and US West and Central Regional Channel Manager, Michael Milnamow, whose previous affiliations include NatCom Systems, Inc., AltiGen (News - Alert) Communications and Active Voice Corporation.
