TRENDnet Records Growth: Cites VoIP, IP Cameras

By Cindy Waxer, TMCnet Contributing Editor

TRENDnet, a networking manufacturer of wired and wireless networking solutions, has recorded 57 percent year-over-year channel sales growth for calendar year 2006. Of TRENDnet’s 224 unit networking product portfolio, business class products such as layer 2 switches, fiber products, IP cameras and VoIP telephones led the growth charge.

TRENDnet brought on board two new distributors in 2006. D&H Distributing, headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and ASI Corporation, headquartered in Fremont, California, were added to TRENDnet’s existing authorized distributor list of Ingram Micro, Ma Labs and eSys Global. TRENDnet’s significant 2006 growth was evenly distributed across all five authorized distributors.

According to Zak Wood, senior marketing manager for TRENDnet: “Sales growth experienced in 2006 was largely due to the hard work of our valued authorized distributors and to TRENDnet’s dedication to brand development. We have high quality products and one of the industry’s lowest return rates. Customers are experiencing the great quality and value of our brand and at the end of the day, they are coming back to buy more TRENDnet products.”

Just last week, TRENDnet made it possible for consumers to have a choice making or receiving either a standard call or a Skype (News - Alert) all when picking up the phone. That’s because TRENDnet started shipping its ClearLink VoIP USB Phone Adapter (Model TVP-SP5G). This pocket-sized product links your telephone to your computer via USB connection and allows you to make VoIP calls, using Skype, from your standard phone. Users can take advantage of free Skype to Skype calling, Skype subscription plans, or keep in contact with regular phone users with their existing telephone.
