TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS), a company that specializes in wireless data communications technology solutions has just partnered with Booz Allen Hamilton, a strategy and technology consulting firm, in order to support the United States Army Information Technology Agency (ITA), the technology component of the Office of the Administrative Secretary of the Army (OAA) with a broad range of information technology professional services and to meet future enterprise architecture requirements.

 

Headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, TCS offers a series of wireless data offerings which include secure deployable communication systems and engineered satellite-based services; location-based wireless and VoIP Enhanced 9-1-1 services; messaging and location service infrastructure for wireless operators; and commercial location applications, like traffic and navigation, with the precise location of a wireless device. The company has also been serving the agencies of the U.S. Departments of Defense, State, and Homeland Security.

 

The company was named sole awardee of U.S. Army contract for up to $246 Million of deployable satellite solutions and was also recently awarded additional orders valued at more than $7.8 million to provide fixed satellite terminal sites and managed bandwidth services utilizing the TCS teleport over 16 months beginning December 2008 to support U.S. government personnel.

 

With nearly 90 years of experience in the industry, Booz Allen Hamilton (News - Alert) has been providing a broad range of services in strategy, operations, organization and change, information technology, systems engineering, and program management. The current partnership with Booz Allen Hamilton will allow TCS to offer information technology support to the Department of Defense military organizations in the Pentagon and throughout the National Capital Region. To date, as sub-contractor, TCS has received orders totaling $1.25 million.

The U.S Army awarded nearly eleven contracts for its Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Services (ITES-2S) which has a maximum value of $20 billion. Booz Allen Hamilton was one among the other businesses to win three-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts.  The ITES-2S scope includes a full range of services and solutions necessary for the Army to satisfy its support of Army net-centric goals with IT services worldwide.
