PortaOne and InnoSystems Announce Interoperability of Solutions

By Divya Narain, TMCnet Contributor

PortaOne, Inc., a Canadian provider of communications infrastructure, has announced that its PortaSwitch IP multimedia subsystem is interoperable with Flashphone (News - Alert), the softphone client from InnoSystems. Flashphone acts as a softphone enhancement for PortaSwitch. The two interoperable products offer a dependable peer-to-peer and peer-to-anyone phone call solution to IP service providers, helping them serve their customers better.

"PortaOne (News - Alert) and Flashphone is a powerful combination that can be offered both as an end-user product and a solution for e-Commerce, businesses or call centers," stated Alexey Aylarov, project manager of InnoSystems. "Interoperability with PortaOne demonstrates Flashphone's flexibility and reliability in supporting leading-edge IP multimedia systems."
Very recently PortaOne announced interoperability with another mobile client. According to a Nov, 2008 TMCnet report it successfully completed the interoperability testing between its PortaSwitch software-based billing and customer management platform and the MobileMax (News - Alert) Personal Edition Mobile Client.
A, "call via Web site" solution, Flashphone is powered by InnoSystems' Zingaya Media Server VoIP gateway. The solution allows for free or low-cost IP telephony. All end-users need is a Web browser, a PC headset, the free Adobe Flash Player plug-in and sufficient bandwidth.
In the words of Roman Khalenkov, sales and marketing director for PortaOne, "With both consumers and organizations of all sizes looking for ways to reduce costs, a 'call via Web site' capability is a highly attractive offering in today's global economy."
"The mutual support of PortaSwitch and Flashphone creates an instant value-add for service providers that can build loyalty and increase revenues," added Khalenkov.
A software-based communication services and subscriber management solution, PortaSwitch allows IP telephony services providers to deliver SIP call control, unified messaging, IP Centrex and IP PBX (News - Alert), voice VPN, callback management and billing and provisioning.
A 2007 start-up Innovative Systems of Communication or InnoSystems boasts a clientele including France Telecom (Orange), isonet, digitrad.com, Max Telecom (News - Alert), FreeConferenceCall.com, Saatchi & Saatchi and Galaxy.
