Joe D'Esopo Joins APconnections as Vice President of Business Development
By Patrick Barnard, Group Managing Editor, TMCnet
Joe D'Esopo, previously vice president of North American sales and customer service for Cymer (News - Alert) Inc., a manufacturer of lasers used in semiconductor photolithography, has joined APconnections, a supplier of bandwidth shaping products, as vice president of business development.
D'Esopo has more than 20 years of technology sales and business development experience. Prior to Cymer he held sales positions with IBM (News - Alert), Cullinet Software and Micron Semiconductor.
Despite the current economic downturn, APconnections has been seeing steady growth and therefore needs to expand its current client relations staff. As vice president of business development, D'Esopo will be responsible for penetrating and managing new corporate markets as well as assisting with current corporate customers.
APconnections’ NetEqualizer is a plug-and-play bandwidth control and WAN/Internet optimization appliance used to prioritize VoIP and email traffic on private networks. The appliance shapes bandwidth dynamically and automatically, improving on other available bandwidth shaping technology.
APconnections made news on TMCnet in February when it announced plans to introduce URL-based traffic shaping on its NetEqualizer (News - Alert) line. The company says it gauged interest for such an upgrade in a recent monthly newsletter, inviting customers and other administrators to share how the feature might fit their needs. Within 24 hours of the invitation, the message from customers was loud and clear, moving forward the plans for URL-based shaping on the NetEqualizer.
