The Telecom Association recently announced that the 2009 "Members Choice" award was granted to Smoothstone, a provider of fully managed Unified Communications (News - Alert) services for the mid-sized enterprise.
TA’s annual “Members Choice" awards recognize telecom vendors that excel in various categories. It allows Active and independent telecom agents, auditors, consultants, VARs and or other individuals who distribute or recommend telecom or data solutions directly to businesses and who have an informed opinion about which solution providers do the best job. TA consists of 3,500 telecom agents, auditors, distributors, consultants, VARs and providers of telecom, data and IT products and solutions for businesses.
Smoothstone (News - Alert) offers specially tailored services, including VoIP to mid-sized companies. Just a week before receiving the “Members Choice 2009” award, the company also achieved Cisco (News - Alert) Managed Services Channel Partner (MSCP) designation.
The Cisco Powered Program Designation proves that Smoothstone has the resources and procedures to deploy, manage and support Cisco Powered Unified Communication services. The company says it underwent a rigorous third-party assessment and met requirements based on the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework of best practices and market and industry requirements to receive the designation.
TA feels that wining its annual 'Members Choice' award in a specific category is an important tribute to each winner's telecom agent, channel partner and customer service programs. The company has been conducting these awards for four consecutive years and more than 320 qualified member ballots have been cast this year. According to TA, this is a new record for the company.
“This award from such a prestigious professional organization helps solidify our position as a leading provider of hosted VoIP services," said Smoothstone Chief Marketing Officer James Whitemore.
"Smoothstone has gained an honorable mention in past years, but this year's recognition as one of the best in the industry is symbolic of our continued growth and success.”
