VoIP service provider Radius Communications has chosen PortaOne’s PortaSwitch IP multimedia subsystem as the main software platform to drive its wholesale and residential/business VoIP services.
PortaSwitch will reportedly replace an earlier platform, and provide Radius with the much needed stability and unlimited scalability to expand its VoIP business operations in four continents: North America, Asia, Australia and Europe.
As an integrated communication services and subscriber management solution, PortaSwitch allows IP telephony services providers to unify voice, data and fax traffic within a single network.
By using its new IP multimedia subsystem, VoIP service providers will be able to enhance its existing services and grow its subscriber base beyond its current business locales.
According to company officials, PortaSwitch will be used for several purposes including hosted softswitch-based IP and IP billing, callshop and hosted callshop
VoIP termination, and wholesale carrier services.
Hemanta Sharma, chief executive officer of Radius Communications, said the company picked PortaOne (News - Alert) after extensive research that revealed its position as best-in-market for IP subsystems. PortaSwitch existing customers were happy with the high degree of stability and scalability the product offers. They were also impressed by the very professional customer care, strong product support, and a promise of sustainable product delivery.
Roman Khalenkov, sales and marketing director for PortaOne, finds Radius to be a forward-thinking company that can provide a full range of IP services in multiple regions of the world.
PortaSwitch can support virtually all critical services, and Khalenkov believes it will help Radius to offer more minutes, and more services, to more customers in more places than ever before.
Radius Communications has already installed PortaSwitch at the company’s operations center in Queens, New York. The company appreciates the training and support provided by PortaOne and according to Sharma, PortaOne’s in-house developers are already working on providing enhanced products and services to satisfy their customers’ requirements.
