TransWorld, Zing Choose Alianza for Hosted VoIP Services

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Alianza, Inc., a provider of hosted voice over WiMAX (News - Alert) solutions, reportedly has been selected to provide hosted VoIP services for Transworld Network and Zing Networks.

Officials at Transworld and Zing say they want to add feature-rich voice services to their broadband offerings, and to increase market share and margin by deploying a fully integrated, white label voice solution.

Zing Networks is a WiMAX service provider that delivers high-performance “Metropolitan Ethernet” and fourth generation (4G) wireless Internet, telephony and satellite services. It mainly serves companies requiring secure, stable connectivity and wireless flexibility, and offers its solutions at a lower cost than traditional phone and cable providers.

“For WiMAX networks, voice is one of the killer applications. It’s what business and residential customers want most. With Alianza (News - Alert), we were up and running quickly and reliably with a voice offering,” said Tolly Marcus, chief executive officer of Zing.

Marcus said that Zing offers services tailored to each individual customer. Alianza’s hosted voice platform is customizable, and the company can manage everything from one simple interface.

TransWorld Network Corp, based in Tampa, Florida, established its roots in 1988 as an inter-exchange telecommunications carrier providing long distance service, dedicated access telecommunication service, toll free services, pre-paid and post-paid phone calling cards, and dial-up Internet service.

Recently, TWN has expanded its coverage by adding broadband wireless networks in various regions around the country.

“TWN provides broadband access to consumers across many states, and the ability to deliver digital phone service in conjunction with Internet access services will be a major benefit to the rural consumer base we serve,” said Colin Wood, chief executive officer of TWN.

Brian Beutler, chief executive officer of Alianza, said that the company’s technology allows service providers to launch their entire voice communications services in a short period of time and under their own brand, with no up front costs.

Beutler said that installation of customer premise equipment is plug and play, so there is no installation required by the service provider.

He said that as the Alianza platform uses SIP as a protocol, it integrates easily and transparently to legacy PBX (News - Alert) systems and PSTN networks.
