Brevient Expands Hosted VoIP Services
By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor
A Milwaukee-based VoIP services provider has launched two new managed service offerings, remote network monitoring services and a hosted operations and billing management software application for VoIP-based businesses.
The latest additions from Brevient Communications come in response to customer requests for the services, the company said.
To meet customers’ needs better, the firm introduced VerbalSnap software, a comprehensive OSS/BSS solution that offers features including customer management, a full billing and invoicing system, VoIP rate and route management, a contract generator, agent commission management and real-time reporting.
“We’ve had requests from people wanting to buy VerbalSnap since we began providing customers and agents with access to it,” said Brevient Communications’ Executive Vice President Dennis Casey in a statement. “The constant feedback showed us that there was an opportunity to come to market with a distinct product that would truly improve the way a VoIP provider manages their business. Our roots in software and experience in the VoIP industry enabled us to create a very effective application.”
Brevient initially built VerbalSnap to manage its own VoIP customers by customizing concepts from CRM and billing applications to better fit its needs as a VoIP provider, the company said in an announcement.
In addition, Brevient rolled out network monitoring services, which provide remote network device monitoring for small businesses and VoIP providers. Brevient will use its U.S.-based Network Operations Center to monitor equipment, including servers, databases, Web applications, routing devices and VoIP equipment. The service has a full-scale monitoring system offering 24-hour-a day monitoring, online reporting and custom alerts. Customers will be alerted if a system should fail.
“Any company with mission-critical network equipment can benefit from our monitoring services,” said CEO Matthew Lautz in a statement. “We consider it to be a very cost-effective and proactive ‘insurance policy’, especially for companies like VoIP or software providers who can literally lose thousands of dollars if their network goes down.”
Brevient solutions include wholesale VoIP termination, VoIP origination DID number services, 800 toll-free service, network monitoring services and the hosted VerbalSnap OSS solution, the company said.
Remote services seem to be a hot topic. As TMCnet recently reported, Streamcore, a provider of appliances for managing application and VoIP delivery over the Wireless Area Network, is offering solutions that address the performance challenges associated with desktop virtualization at remote offices.
Streamcore’s solutions help companies overcome poor application performance of virtual desktop infrastructure traffic, such as Microsoft (News - Alert) Remote Desktop Protocol and Citrix ICA protocol, exchanged between virtual machines in the data center and clients at remote sites, TMCnet said.
