VocalTec Communications Ltd., a provider of carrier-class multimedia and voice-over-IP solutions for service providers announced the launch of Essentra Large-Scale BAX Solution for mobile and fixed networks.
According to VocalTec (News - Alert), the global mobile industry has been showing growth with broadband services, availability of 3G and 3.5G handsets and others. This has made mobile service providers to transition and upgrade their networks to cater to the growing traffic and usage. Mobile service providers as well as alternative providers in the industry are benefiting from these growth trends in the mobile market.
VocalTec has addressed the increase in demand for VoIP services on both wired and wireless networks by evolving its Class-5 VoIP solution. The new VocalTec Essentra Large-scale Clas-5 solution is based on innovative grid computing technologies. It allows scaling up to millions of subscribers by the sharing of application objects across multiple servers.
The benefits offered by the new solution include predictable and linear scalability, site redundancy, continuous availability, information reliability, low response time and high throughput, said VocalTec.
“Market estimates mention mobile broadband penetration rates of over 50% by 2013 with cellular VoIP representing the majority of voice traffic by the same year. This disruptive trend is forcing Service Providers to consider the evolution of their radio networks and the introduction of VoIP-enabled handsets and services,” said Yair Golan, VP Marketing and Business Development at VocalTec, in a statement.
“Our Large-scale Class-5 solution responds to the needs of evolving wired and wireless markets and fulfills the expectations of our partners and customers around the globe,” added Golan. “Featuring linear scalability up to millions of subscribers this innovative technology also addresses carriers’ needs in reducing expenditures without sacrificing quality and service availability.”
VocalTec Communications provides carrier-class multimedia and voice-over-IP solutions for communications service providers.
