Hosted VoIP provider 8x8 (News - Alert) has posted proxy materials for its 2009 Annual Meeting of Shareholders on its Website, as per the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Notice and Access rule.
Under the SEC's (News - Alert) Notice and Access rule, companies now have the option of posting proxy materials on the Internet, as opposed to mailing them. All they need to do is furnish a URL to all shareholders, telling them where to access the materials. 8x8 will continue to mail the materials – but it will also notify shareholders in its mailing that the information is also posted on the Web.
8x8's 2009 Annual Report on Form 10-K and proxy statement have been filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and may be viewed on the investor relations section of the company’s Website. The company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be held at 10 a.m. PDT, Thursday, July 30, at 8x8's corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif.
TMC (News - Alert) President and Editor-in-Chief Rich Tehrani recently interviewed Debbie Jo Severin, 8x8’s new CMO and VP of Marketing, about how the company is surviving the down economy, as well as what new features and capabilities it has planned for its award-winning Packet8 hosted VoIP service moving forward.
8x8, Inc. also made news recently when it announced that it had teamed up with Aastra, a leading maker of IP phones, to offer co-branded Virtual Office business IP phones bundled with the 8×8 Virtual Office suite. Under the partnership, Aastra (News - Alert) will supply the co-branded 8x8/Aastra 6755i Virtual Office IP phone, while 8x8 manages the 8x8 Virtual Office hosted IP PBX service.
