Coleman Technologies Offers Borderless Unified Cisco Network

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Coleman Technologies has announced that the company is bridging the gap between modern workspaces and traditional office environments with its technological innovations.

According to Coleman Technologies (News - Alert), not only companies in the private sectors, but even government agencies such as branches of the U.S. military, emergency responders, and railroads now require such services.

Increasingly, modern workspaces are physically separated, connected only by the technological innovations such as a unified network. Although this offers a whole new working environment and added benefits, network managers find it hard to provide the required infrastructure for these technologies to wok.

Coleman Technologies has provided its services to many companies. They include Norfolk Southern, where Coleman Technologies provided a small, ruggedized device that fits snugly in cramped locomotive cabs. The dirt, moisture and vibration-resistant unit meets all requirements and contains communication cards, a Cisco (News - Alert) switch, cellular modem and a slot for an onboard computer.

“Voice, video, and data communication streams are converging on IP networks as the standard. It has become imperative that ruggedized, wireless technology platforms be integrated effectively, regardless of the environmental extremes they may face,” Coleman Technologies’ CEO Ben Patz said. “Since the communication is mission-critical, there is simply no room for failure of these devices.”

Coleman Technologies has also provided services to Communication personnel with the U.S. Southern Command. The company provided a mobile, environmentally-hardened platform to operate over any broadband Internet connection to both secret and unclassified networks. For this purpose, Coleman Technologies deployed “RAPTOR,” a mobile communications device.

The company has also provided services to U.S. Navy’s Zumwalt-class destroyers and U.S. Navy’s Zumwalt-class destroyers.

Recently, WildPackets, a provider of network and application performance analysis solutions, announced the addition of Coleman Technologies to its growing solution provider network in North America. WildPackets’ (News - Alert) PEEKS Partner Network is a comprehensive, multi-tiered program that offers network management solution providers an array of sales, marketing, training, and support resources to help them generate opportunities and ensure selling success.
