HarQen and Sharendipity Team to Develop New Web Telephony Applications

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

HarQen is reportedly integrating its Web telephony platform with Sharendipity’s collaborative user-generated software environment.

This new partnership will allow HarQen to leverage Sharendipity collaboration tools to enable its customers to build custom web applications that interface with the HarQen platform.

Also, HarQen will provide premium telephony components to Sharendipity customers through their component sharing architecture.

HarQen’s Web telephony and social networking platforms power business applications of several industries. The company strives to optimize voice transactions for businesses with such applications like VoiceScreener and Comic Wonder.

Kelly Fitzsimmons, co-founder and CEO of HarQen, said in a statement, “Our vision is that HarQen will bring voice to the web across a wide range of diverse applications, and we know our customers will require tools to easily build custom web-based interfaces. Sharendipity helps us towards our goal of creating an ideal solution for businesses in the web-telephony space.”

Individuals can create interactive Flash software applications regardless of technical expertise, using Sharendipity’s collaborative development environment. Users can even piece together components shared by other community members to create software applications without programming, or dig in deeper and build their own components.

Mark Gehring, co-founder and CEO of Sharendipity, said: "We can imagine all kinds of new applications leveraging HarQen technology. For example, a game might involve dialog delivered over the phone, or an interactive greeting card template might prompt the user for a custom greeting using.”

Both the companies plan the initial release of the combined platforms in the third quarter of 2009.
