TNCI Inks Wholesale Contract with AT&T for Communications Services

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

TNCI, a national telecommunications provider, has signed a multi-year wholesale contract with AT&T (News - Alert) for Voice, Data and IP Networking Solutions.

Under the agreement, TNCI will utilize AT&T’s Network Connection, VoIP Connect Service and Private Network Transport (PNT) service to provide an expanded portfolio of voice and data services to its customers.

According to Brian Twomey, president of TNCI, the company chose AT&T for its synergy with their strategy including proven service portfolio, single interface, provisioning and project management, so that they can focus on their agents and customers.

He said that the new agreement with AT&T is an important step forward in a strategy that began with their TNCInet Advantage network deployment. He said that they are assigned to deliver solutions that address the issues customers face today while making it possible for them to benefit from the latest available technology.

Officials at TNCI said that they needed a proven network to deliver the service, as VoIP is increasingly being utilized. AT&T’s Network Connection will help TNCI to provide high-volume unbranded transport and termination of long distance voice traffic over the AT&T network. And AVOICS offers IP-based connectivity to AT&T’s network and termination of IP voice traffic over the PSTN.

TNCI will now be able to offer its customers a flexible path to migrate from legacy data networks to a high performing, scalable IP-based network with security and reliability using AT&T PNT service, a network-based IP VPN solution over the AT&T IP network, utilizing Multiprotocol Label Switching, an advanced switching technology.

“We are pleased that TNCI selected AT&T to support its business requirements, and are committed to providing our wholesale customers with the network-driven capabilities and applications they need to successfully compete in today’s environment,” said Sherry Charles, vice president, Wholesale and GEM (News - Alert) Solutions Marketing, AT&T Business Solutions.
