Nectar Services Corp, a provider of VoIP communications services, said it sees “great potential” in the recent share sale agreement between Avaya (News - Alert) and Nortel for Nortel's enterprise solutions business.
Avaya reportedly entered into a "stalking horse" agreement to buy Nortel's enterprise solutions business for $475 million. The deal includes the planned sale of almost all of the assets of the enterprise solutions business worldwide, along with the shares of Nortel Government Solutions (News - Alert) and DiamondWare, a maker of softphones.
The Nectar platforms help the Nortel customers maintain their existing systems while transitioning to a new telephony vendor. Apart from offering visibility into a company's entire telephony architecture, the company’s solutions also have the ability to manage multi-vendor environments.
Nector is a subsidiary of Juma Technology (News - Alert) Corp.
“Clearly, the Nortel customer base and successful channel program are both coveted jewels that brings with them great revenue potential," said Joe Fuccillo, Nectar's (News - Alert) chief technology officer, in a statement. "Nectar provides a transition strategy for Nortel customers regardless of who ultimately ends up with those assets, but our strong partnership with Avaya certainly makes an Avaya-Nortel organization that much more attractive for us.”
Combined with the company's own thriving channel program, Nectar's vendor-agnostic solutions positions the company as a vehicle for Nortel partners and clients as they move into whatever the next chapter will bring. Nectar is a Platinum Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) partner that has developed tools to facilitate IP telephony transition strategies and deliver unified management capabilities for complex architectures.
The company recently announced a new version of its advanced monitoring and management solution. The solution, Nectar Converged Management Platform version 3.0, has offerings for enterprise clients and Managed Service Providers. Also, Nectar has announced a new offering for its channel partner resellers for the SMB market. Users of CMP will now get advanced QoS monitoring for voice networks and a new automated inventory module.
