Voltaire Ltd., a provider of scale-out data center fabrics, has reportedly established an open global partner ecosystem to accelerate adoption of low latency, scale-out Ethernet fabrics for enterprise data centers and cloud computing environments.

 

The partner ecosystem is designed to cover a broad spectrum of technology partners who interoperate with Voltaire’s Ethernet switches.

 

“Voltaire’s approach to scale-out Ethernet fabrics is open and based on industry standards so customers can use best-of-breed solutions across their data centers,” said Asaf Somekh, vice president of marketing at Voltaire.

 

“By building an ecosystem of industry-leading partners with expertise that spans across compute, network, storage access and virtualization technologies, we can provide the most scalable, highest performance, lowest latency and lowest cost 10 Gigabit Ethernet solution for customers,” Somekh said.

 

Based on Layer 2 core converged enhanced Ethernet technology, the Voltaire Vantage Ethernet switches allow its customers to benefit from a far more scalable, lower latency, and virtualized 10 Gigabit Ethernet fabric, with lower costs, power consumption and simplified management.

 

The company has been focusing in technology and solution development relationships with several companies including; VMware, Red Hat, Platform Computing, NYSE Technologies, NetApp, Mellanox Technologies, Intel, IBM (News - Alert), HP, Fulcrum Microsystems, Cluster Resources, Chelsio Communications and BLADE Network Technologies.

 

Reportedly, Voltaire products are included in cluster and blade server offerings from Bull, HP, IBM, NEC and Sun and provide the internal server-to-storage connectivity for the HP-Oracle (News - Alert) Database Machine.
