APconnections, a Colorado-based provider of plug-and-play bandwidth shaping products, reportedly will be announcing the launch of its new “Cash for Conversion” program.
The Cash for Conversion program by APconnections offers owners of select brands of network optimization technology, such as Exinda, Packeteer/Blue Coat, Allot, Cymphonics, and Procera, with $1000 credit towards the list-price purchase of NetEqualizer (News - Alert) NE2000-10 or higher models.
APconnections’s “NetEqualizer” is a plug-and-play bandwidth control and WAN/Internet optimization appliance featuring behavior shaping technology. It optimizes critical network bandwidth resources for organizations that purchases bandwidth in bulk and then redistributes or resells that bandwidth.
Company officials said that NetEqualizer's behavior shaping technology offers priority to latency sensitive applications, such as VoIP and e-mail - when the network is congested. It also controls network flow for the best WAN optimization.
According to APconnections, it’s new Cash for Conversion program was modeled after the government's successful “Cash for Clunkers” new car program.
In order to qualify for this new program, all owners must send their old, working or outworking, or out-of-license bandwidth control technology to the company. However, only the listed manufacturers' products will be qualified, says company officials.
Apart from receiving the $1000 credit towards a NetEqualizer, program participants concern over the environment will have the peace of mind of knowing that their old technology will be handled responsibly through refurbishment or electronics recycling programs.
Based on Linux, the NetEqualizer can enhance network performance by limiting bandwidth by fairness, host, subnet, MAC address or IP address. It incorporates Linux firewalling programs, iptables and ebtables.
