Hosted VoIP Provider Vinculum Communications Appoints Jim Comeaux as President of its Vintalk Services Division

By Patrick Barnard, Group Managing Editor, TMCnet

Hosted VoIP provider, network operator and systems integrator Vinculum Communications has appointed Jim Comeaux, co–founder of VIVID IP and formerly with VoloNet Technologies (dba RedWire), as president of its Vintalk Services Division.

A seasoned veteran of the telecommunications industry, Comeaux co-founded VIVID IP, a network installer, systems integrator and solutions provider in Southern California. Prior to that, he worked as the CEO/CTO and executive vice president of strategy for VoloNet Technologies (dba RedWire), an ISP/WISP/VoIP service provider serving the SMB market in Southern California.

Comeaux has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, Internet sales, financial services and marketing, business development, network design and deployment. In his new role he will be responsible for leading nationwide sales and operations initiatives for Vinculum’s Vintalk platform, its hosted VoIP offering. He will manage all B2B channels, including inside sales, direct sales, indirect channels and service.

In a release, Scott Goodwin, chairman and CEO of Vinculum Communications, said Comeaux’s “strong telephony background, coupled with his customer commitment and professional approach,” were key factors in choosing him as the company’s president of retail sales and service.
Vinculum Communications is a hosted VoIP provider serving both the business and consumer markets. The company operates its own, private, managed international IP network which it also leases on a wholesale basis to carriers. In addition to its hosted VoIP service it offers SIP trunking; SIP access; high speed Internet; conference calling; international calling; and Internet faxing. It also offers systems integration services, including PBX (News - Alert)/IP-PBX integration and network readiness and performance testing.

Vinculum’s Vintalk service offers all the features and functionality that businesses expect out of a hosted VoIP service including auto-attendant, voicemail, real time call reporting, paging, call park, follow me/find me, and unified communications features. It also offers financing to companies looking to make the transition to VoIP. The company uses a reseller model to sell its services.

“Despite the economic recession, our business continues to thrive,” Goodwin said. “Our clients see great value in our services, we save them time and money. The leadership team at Vinculum Communications is excited about our future business growth. We look forward to expanding our value-added services to new enterprise firms in 2009 and beyond.”
