In a bid to assist its growth and the expansion plans, Linksys (News - Alert), a division of Cisco Systems has appointed four executives who will help the company realize its goals.

The four executives include Geraint Anderson, who will serve as vice president and general manager, Service Provider Organization; Craig Gledhill, who will serve as vice president, Asia Pacific (APAC); Vince Hassel who will serve as chief financial officer; and Steve Silva, vice president, Connected Home Integration.

In the home and small business networking markets, Linksys has already crossed revenues of $1 Billion. The company now has ambitious expansion and growth plans and is looking for leaders to assist the company in these plans.

According to Charles Giancarlo, senior vice president and chief development officer of Cisco, and president of Linksys, the new leadership of Linksys, combined with the already existing technical expertise of the company, will help the company find “new market opportunities in our increasingly connected and on-demand world.”

Linksys is planning to introduce some new products very soon and its banking on the knowledge and leadership qualities of these four senior executives to execute the plan. The experience of all these executives pertains to small business networking arena and that’s exactly the area Linksys is looking to dominate in the coming years.

Here is a brief introduction of these four senior executives and their respective roles on Linksys.

Geraint Anderson

Geraint Anderson has over 20 years of service provider experience in global sales, P&Ls and development organizations. He has spent the last eight years of his career with Cisco and led the Long Haul Optical BU. For the last three years, he has been leading the SP Verticals organization for European Markets.

Anderson will be responsible for all aspects of the Linksys business associated with fixed telecom, cable and mobile operators on a global scale. Anderson's main goal will be to make Linksys the partner of choice for Connected Home and Connected Office solutions by securing a profitable run rate business through Service Providers.

Craig Gledhill

Gledhill’s rich experience spans 16 years in the technology industry. For the past nine years, Gledhill has been with Cisco where he has worked for senior sales positions for large accounts and education verticals within Australia. Until recently, he was the managing director of Singapore and Brunei.

In his new role, Gledhill leads the strategy, execution and expansion of Linksys throughout APAC. The geography efforts of APAC Linksys functional departments and sales operations will be managed by Gledhill. However, Gledhill’s major goal will be to position Linksys as premium brand in APAC by maximizing growth opportunities in consumer and small business markets.
