Speakeasy Makes Switching to VoIP Easier for Small Businesses

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

When it comes to broadband and VoIP services, Seattle-based Best Buy company Speakeasyoffers solutions to meet the needs of all customers. Recently, the company announced it is going to offer free IP phones to new business customers.

In today’s business environment, the importance of switching to hosted VoIP service is immense. But many small companies fail to adopt one due to budget crunch as most times making the switch involved huge upfront costs for purchasing new IP phones.

By offering free IP phones to new business customers, Speakeasy (News - Alert) is going to eliminate one of the last barriers the small companies face in VoIP adoption.

Officials with Speakeasy  said the company will include, free of charge, Polycom (News - Alert) SoundPoint IP 321 VoIP-enabled phones to new business customers who purchase unlimited or global Hosted Voice calling plans and have a minimum of five lines.

However, the offer is valid only for limited time.

According to a recent report from In-Stat (News - Alert), the VoIP market is going to experience a massive surge in the upcoming years with 79 percent penetration among U.S. businesses in the next three years. This will be a 33 percent jump from the number of businesses currently using VoIP.

With this latest move, Speakeasy will play a key role in accelerating the growth.

In addition to the free Polycom SoundPoint IP 321, the company announced a range of other benefits for their new business customers including a new hardware lineup with new Polycom and Cisco (News - Alert) phones.

“The benefits of switching to Hosted Voice are clear and proven,” Bruce Chatterley, Speakeasy CEO said. “And although the savings pay off over time, companies can be discouraged by the upfront financial hurdle of purchasing new phones. By taking the cost of new phones out of the purchase decision, companies now have no reason not to make the switch.”
