Recently, Telesphere, a Communications as a Service provider of VoIP, hosted PBX (News - Alert) and unified communications solutions, has stated that it is a founding member of the Cloud Communications Alliance.  

A consortium of global industry players driving development and implementation of the first national high-definition enterprise voice and data network in the IP "cloud" for business, the CCA has been launched at the Cloud Computing Expo in New York City.

While speaking about the formation of CCA, Clark Peterson, CEO of Telesphere (News - Alert) and chairman of the CCA explained that the future of telecommunications lies in the 'cloud,' and the formation of the CCA couldn't have been better timed. "It will bring HD voice, advanced 'apps' and converged office and mobile voice and data solutions to customers."

Sanjay Srinivasan, CTO, noted that this alliance is trying to combine the strengths of eight industry leaders in hosted-IP voice and data solutions so that customers can see more technically advanced applications.

The CCA currently comprises of eight companies. Their main objective is to endorse awareness of the Cloud Communications standard and drive its development through pursuing new technical standards, capabilities and applications. The customers will attain services straight from CCA thereby empowering enterprise customers to explore more flexible and manageable voice and unified communications systems.

Dennis Weibling, managing director of Rally Capital, LLC and investor in Telesphere said that as the Internet and ubiquitous broadband have created a boom in cloud computing, there is changes in the way enterprises communicate via cloud communications.

Cloud communications is currently being served by many geographically dispersed companies and when top providers into the Cloud Communications Alliance joins hands, it creates a nationwide network, increasing the availability of voice solutions in the cloud and driving innovation in that space. This alliance will help to provide new and creative voice solutions to customers, in turn, will drive investment and growth.
