Speakeasy Chooses Learn.com for its Knowledge Platform Technology

By Deepika Mala, TMCnet Contributor

To automate training for its expanding channel sales partner network and growing in-house staff, Speakeasy has selected Learn.com's knowledge platform technology.
Learn.com supports four critical areas of human capital management: learning management, talent management, social learning and collaboration.

Speakeasy (News - Alert) is a Best Buy company and one of the nation's leading voice and broadband service providers, headquartered in Seattle. Throughout the United States, Speakeasy has deployed thousands of partners who handle distribution of the company's main product lines: broadband and hosted voice services.

Partner product training, for a number of years, was handled in classroom settings in selected metropolitan cities once or twice a year. The employee on-boarding, leadership, sales and technical training were handled manually.

The need for centralized, on-demand training and certification became imperative owing to the growth of both the partner network and in-house staff.

"We were looking for an LMS that was 'Cloud Based' and accessible 24/7 to accommodate our partners' schedules and to expedite sales and technical training for our employees," Randy Laub, director of market development at Speakeasy, said. "The flexibility of the Learn.com platform to handle multiple applications and audiences fit our needs perfectly, allowing our training modules to be accessed independently to accommodate individual timeline and expertise."

In related news, Speakeasy is all set to combine its business with Covad (News - Alert) Communications and MegaPath Inc. to create the first managed services local exchange carrier that will be able to provide a full range of IP voice, security, VPN and Internet services nationwide."
