Cablenet Communication Systems Ltd. has deployed a number of C4 CMTS chassis' in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca, three of the major cities of Cyprus. The C4 has been purchased from ARRIS Value-Added Reseller (VAR) B.A.S.E. Technologies.
Cablenet Communication Systems, a strategic partner to the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, has been offering video services over cable throughout the island. The company now wants to enhance that offering and provide triple play

service, utilizing the ARRIS C4 CMTS, Touchstone 502B Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapters (E-MTAs) and Touchstone Wireless (News - Alert) E-MTA WTM552Bs. The nationwide high-speed Internet service is transported across Cablenet's fiber backbone serving the island's three major cities.
According to a news release, Cablenet selected ARRIS equipment as part of an end-to-end, IP

backbone and triple play service solution provided by B.A.S.E. Technologies of Belgium, an ARRIS VAR.
"We exhaustively researched the solutions provided to us by several vendors and selected the ARRIS solution for its reliability, availability and ability to scale," said Cablenet's Managing Director Nicolas Shiacolas. "Cablenet is proud to deploy the infrastructure necessary to add high-speed data and primary line telephony service to the inhabitants of Cyprus."
