Infrax System Inc., which provides unified Smart Grid-related products and services for the Energy and Utility industries, has deployed an encrypted Android (News - Alert)-based mobile phone for voice and data applications. Adding to the portfolio of HTC Desire Phones, the Infrax Systems Smartphone will enable users to manage voice calls and data securely.
The current state of business environment is such that people use their mobile phone to openly discuss and transmit confidential and sensitive information. The open and centralized voice and data communication channel poses one of the biggest threats to financial and business confidentiality including homeland security. Industrial and business spies are constantly on a lookout for confidential information and are equipped with the right kind of interception technology. To tackle this problem, the Infrax Systems phone uses a secure peer-to-peer VoIP connection for communication between devices enabled using their unbreakable encryption technology. Instead of connecting via a central hub which is vulnerable to eavesdropping, the technology uses dedicated virtual connections.
The advanced VoIP connection will be provided via the internet using Wi-Fi and other cellular networks such as Wi-Fi, HSDPA (3.5G), UMTS (3G) or EDGE (2.5G) networks. Superior Voice quality and cost-efficient calls using carrier billing data traffic are few of the advantages of the VoIP communication over GSM’s high-cost voice traffic network.
The company has currently released three different version of the secure phone; Government, Industrial and Business, while the design of Utility applications have been postponed for future development. Infrax Systems can also provide customized remote monitoring applications for industrial and business processes.
