Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. announced today that it has made major function enhancements to the CTstage 5i, the latest in its series of CTstage contact center system, which dominates market share in Japan.
The new functions to the CTstage 5i improve contact center expandability, respond to multiple locations and connect with IP-PBXs. Sales of CTstage 5i with these enhanced functions start today in the Japanese market.
"As many companies aim to improve their level of customer satisfaction, company-wide customer response through contact centers is becoming important," said Katsuyoshi Koide, President of Multimedia Messaging Company at Oki Electric Industry, in a Thursday statement.
"We contribute to enhance our products to meet those needs by integrating the contact center and the office voice networks into a single network. As part of this approach, OKI (News - Alert) enhanced several functions of the CTstage 5i."
Oki’s CTstage is positioned as excelling in expandability and flexibility through the adoption of a server-based open architecture. As a result, users are able to respond to various customer needs and to changes in the business operation.
These features have resulted in the product line gaining broad customer support and CTstage 5i was reborn as an advanced IP contact center system by converging IP-PBX

technologies.
By leveraging the merits of the IP-based single architecture, the CTstage 5i offers expandability, enabling the connection to as many as 500 seats in a single system. The CTstage has also achieved system flexibility by improving voice recording functions that allow dispersed server allocation, enhancing the capability to handle multiple locations and enabling faxes to be sent and received via software.
The CTstage 5i has also improved convergence of IP-PBX (News - Alert) technologies by seamlessly connecting PBX leased lines with IP-PBXs. Oki plans to continue to respond to market needs by promoting integration of enterprise voice network.
The CTstage was launched by Oki in 1996 as a CTI

(Computer Telephony Integration) system to converge computer and telephony. Since its launch, over 5,500 cumulated sets were sold, being installed and operated in various markets. In November of 2006, Oki launched CTstage 5i, with enhanced durability and expandability.
As more and more contact centers are turning to a dispersed platform, the demand for solutions like the CTstage will continue to grow as it offers the functionality that many contact centers need to be able to operation efficiently. Such performance also facilitates better customer service, enhancing interactions and helping to protect the customer base, while also driving revenues.
